Death of an Ex-Policeman.
Jacob P. Killinger died at his home on West Orange street on Saturday evening of consumption. Deceased was well known in this city. He was constable of the Fifth ward aud a member of the city police force for about twelve years. Last year he was defeated for the office of con stable and since that time has been a watchman at the watch factory and also worked at his trade of carpentering.

On Saturday evening about seven o'clock Mr. Jacob P. Killinger died at his residence, West Orange street, aged 50 years. He had been in ill health for some years* past, but the immediate cause of his taking off was typhoid fever. Deeceased was a carpenter by trade, and, while employed in a planing mill, many years ago, lost nearly all of one hand by an accident. It was only then that he sought election as a constable, and he became an officer under Mayor Atlee on October 26, 1870, continuing in the service as constable and policeman until last April. He was a member of Monterey Lodge, No. 242, I. 0. 0. F., and also of Washington Encampment, No. 11. A wife and six children survive him, some of the children being of adult age.

Mrs. Lucy Killinger.
Mrs. Lucy Killinger, widow of the late Jacob Killinger, who was a well known police officer of this city, died yesterday at noon at her home, No. 216 West Chestnut street. Mrs. Killinger was sixty-one years old and a life long resident of this city. Some time ago she had an attack of grip, which greatly weakened her system, although the direct cause of death was stomach trouble. Deceased was a daughter of the late David and Katharine Erisman. She was well known and a devout member of the Methodist church. Her surviv ing children are: Frank H., Ella E., Mary, wife of John S. Scholl; Margaret R., H. Edward, all at home, and David E., of Canton, Ohio. The following sisters also survive: Mrs. Elias Kautz, Mrs. George Powell, Mrs. I. B. Smeltz, and Miss Margaret.

Mrs. Lucy Killinger, widow of the late Jacob Killinger, who was weil known in this city, having served as a police officer in this city over twelve years, receiving his first appointment under Mayor Atlee, in 1870, died at her residence, No. 216 West Chestnut street, at noon to-day. The deceased had an attack of the grip some, time ago, which greatly weakened her system, and from which, owing to her age, sixty-one years, she never fully recovered. Stomach trouble was the direct cause of death. Mrs. Killinger waS born in this city, being a daughter of David and Katharine Erisman, both deceased. The surviving children are Frank H., Ella E., Mary, wife of John C. Scholl, Margaret R.. H. Edward, all of this city, and David E., of Canton, Ohio. The following sisters survive: Mrs. Elias Kautz, Mrs. George Powell, Mrs. I. B. Smeltz and Miss Margaret Erisman, all of this city. The deceased had been a consistent member of the Methodist Church for many years, and her Christian character had endeared her to a large circle of friends and acquaintances, who will mourn her death.
