Obituary notes for David KILLINGER
David Killinger, an old citizen of Lancas• ter, and by reason of his business as butcher, one known to many persons of the city and county, died suddenly at his residence, No. 113 East King street, about eleven o'clock Sunday night. For some months Mr. Killinger has not been enjoying good health, but he was well enough to be about and was on the streets on Sunday. He retired about seven in the evening, feeling no worse than usual, but awoke between ten and eleven o'clock, told his wife he was dying and instructed her to send for Dr. George A. King. Before the arrival of the physician he gave instructions to his family as to what he desired attended to after his death, but when Dr. King came he was unconscious, in which condition he remained until about elevon o'clock, when he died. The immediate cause of his death was apoplexy.
Mr. Killinger was in the 72d year of his age and has followed butchering in this city nearly all his life. For a few years in his early life he was a drover but for 41 years has been in business at the East King street stand. His wife and three children survive him. Two sons, J. Emanuel, fruit merchant, and Reuben B., butcher, live in this city, and his daughter, Mary C., married to Amos Mecartney, lives at present in Prancis Cal. His funeral will take 5 day afternoon.
