Notes for Daniel (Spouse 1)
Daniel was a farmer who resided in Lancaster Twp., Lancaster Co., PA. He is first listed in the Lancaster Twp., Lancaster Co., PA tax records in 1757 and paid tax on: 200 acres, 1 horse, 2 mares, 17 cattle and 6 sheep. In the 1756 Lancaster Twp. tax lists the "Widow Eirashman" has a 20 year old son listed as a Freeman, presumably this is Daniel since he was listed as being taxed for her land the year after. Daniel purchased 150 acres of his fathers land from his estate by deed dated July 25, 1760. On July 29, 1771, Daniel gave water rights to his neighbor Andrew Kauffman who wanted to dam the Little Conestoga Creek for his grist mill. Daniel is on the tax lists for Lancaster Twp. from 1757 until 1785. For most of these years he was taxed for about 150 acres of land, 50-60 acres were cleared and 90 were wooded. He is listed in the 1771 Lancaster Co., proprietary tax in Lancaster Twp. with 140 acres. In 1773, 1779, and 1782 he was also listed in Lancaster Twp. but was taxed for 150 acres. In the 1789 Lancaster Twp. tax lists his two older sons Jacob & John were now being taxed for his land while his son Daniel is listed as a Freeman. Daniel was listed with his sons Daniel and John in Capt. John Wedely's Co., 1st Battalion of Lancaster Co. militia in 1789.In the 1790 Federal Census Daniel has 3 males and 2 females total in his household and is enumerated next to his son Jacob Erisman in Lancaster Twp., Lancaster Co., PA. On Oct. 8, 1791, Daniel sold 100 acres of land in Lancaster Twp. to his son Jacob. On Mar. 12, 1793, Daniel sold 65.75 acres of land in Lancaster Twp. to his son Abraham, it being part of a 150 acre tract that the Proprietors of Pennsylvania granted to Melchior Erisman on Nov. 11, 1734. Daniel died 1800-01 and left no probate records of any kind.
Mary is mentioned in her father's will and both Daniel and Mary are mentioned in the deeds that settled his estate. Mary Erisman (widow) was enumerated in the 1800 Census in Lancaster City andis listed in the 1801 and 1802 Lancaster Twp. tax records.
